iPhone 3G-S

I think I will be picking one up tomorrow depending how the plans in Canada look. The phone is definitely a vast improvement over the old ones from what I have read though!

I did the 3.0 upgrade to my 3G iPhone last night. It's much improved.

The 3GS is going to be awesome. On the outside you won't be able to tell them apart, but it's supposed to be twice as fast, video, 32Gig available, feature packed, etc. I would get on in a heartbeat. The iPhone I have now is the most incredible gadget I've gotten in a long time. I have my entire music library on it, my calendar, it surfs the web nearly as well as my PC, WIFI, etc., etc.

:iagree::iagree::iagree:

I love my iPhone and they are so intuitive that even my tech challenged wife figured hers out and loves it.

I hate my iPhone...

tethering not happening
camera sucks- no zoom
no MMS- in 2009, no MMS?

I know iPhone fans- I knew it couldn't do what the average $20 phone can do before I bought it but still.

The iPhone 3G-S has MMS. I no longer need tethering.

But $300 for a mobile phone? It better come with blowjobs! :sifone:

MMS will be available towards the end of summer and tethering if you need it should be here by end of the year. The 3GS is tethering campatible but AT&T is not supporting it yet.

The 8gig should be $199 and the S also has a much better camera and video camera.

MMS- should have been available many moons ago. Heck even my DollaBill edition StarTac had it

Tethering- so they sign an exclusive with a carrier whos network can't support it

Camera- I think my DollaBill edition StarTac had video and zoom as well

I never even checked these features before buying my 3G and I take responsibility for buying it; just never ever, ever crossed my mind it wouldn't do any of that. Just saying.... iPhone is pretty stupid for a smart phone.

My other boner is how Apple holds features hostage so they can sell us the next version. 2009 and none of the above? Total BS...

I have the original iPhone (no 3G network here yet) and upgraded to 3.0 last night. I like it so far, but what is Apple's problem with allowing ppl to erase individual text messages and individual calls? When I had it Jailbroken there were apps for that, but not since the AppStore. (Not that I would ever have anything to hide.:blush5:)

I plan to upgrade to the 3Gs because of the faster processor. Also, you can't replace the iPhone's battery and after a little over a year and a half with this one, I have noticed the battery life is getting shorter.:ack2:

I bought a 3G one last year and gave it back two weeks later. Loved how the phone worked but had these problems. The battery sucks. I use the phone alot and the battery would not last half a day. second with my verizon phone it automaticly backs up any changes I make to my contact list every night automaticly. I have over 600 phone numbers in the phone and can not take a chance to lose them or worry if they are on a sim card if I lose the phone. And finally AT&T service just plain sucks. I had more dropped calls in two weeks with them then in a year with verizon. I hope and pray that verizon next year gets the ability to sell the phone and then I will buy another one.

I don't know of ANY phone with a true zoom. They are all digital zooms and you can accomplish the same by taking the pic and then enlarging the pic.

Optical= $$ + added size/weight
Digital= cheap & small

I'm fine with just being able to adjust the picture in/out & do video. Just saying for a smartphone it lacks a lot of basic features that phones have had for 5+ years

I have a woman holding a 32gig for me to pick up tomorrow or tues. The store only got two black ones, so she told me she will hide it till I get there. I will let you all know tomorrow or tues how it is. from what I have read it is supposed to be a big improvement over the last one.

Do you really need 32GB of memory? 16GB seems like plenty.

I know you will want to download tons of apps, but good grief! :eek:

I can get a 16GB iPhone 3G-S for $200 ($100 less than the 32GB iPhone)

I can get a Blackberry Bold for $150

I can get a Samsung Jack for $50

Which one should I get? :cool:

I have the 16G, and I wish I had 32G. The main reason for me is music and pictures.

If you don't plan to heavily load your phone with media, than 16 will be more than enough.

As full-featured phone, any one of those will do. If you're looking for a great, multi-media computing device, the iPhone take the prize, in my opinion. My wife has the Bold, I have the iPhone. We both prefer the iPhone, but for her work the BB is the only one supported.

My advice would be to spend the extra money and get the 32gb. Video takes a lot of space and I suspect you will have no shortage of opportunity to take some vids.
