Once Prohibition was repealed, the bootleggers were out of business.

Clay, I understand your argument on Prohibition of drugs and legalization. Personally I don't really care what people do in their own time as long as they are a productive member of society.

But this is way off the original topic of what is going on out here.

The drugs coming across the border here is just another problem we are facing.
If we take care of the illegal immigration by making it tougher to get here, I think 50% of the drug problem will take care of itself. Can't say I have any hard facts on that, just speculation on my part.

While it is true that Moonshiners still exist, the violence of Prohibition is no longer with us,

Depending one where you live, you just might have a Meth lab next door! Since Meth (and all other drugs) is illegal, the government has zero control over its production, distribution, and use.

But as others have said... this thread is about the illegal alien problem, not the drug war.
