Ken the further north u launch the better it is. Early in the season the salt levels are lower because they open the dams up north to help flush things out. Where I launch in Peekskill it can get as high 50% salt water latter in the season.
If u are heading down with Chuck I would recommend Cannon Ball yacht club in Stony Point.
http://www.stonypointbaymarina.com they have 2 travel lifts for your boat and a wide enough ramp for Chuck’s boat. There is a 36 specter that launches there every weekend. Hoses are available to wash off your boats as well. More than likely that’s were our crew will be that morning. There will be plenty of people to lend a hand. It’s about 20 -30 minutes from exit 16 off of 87, it’s not a bad tow off the highway. Chuck just needs to take the back way in, His boat wont fit under the bridge just before the marina.
