“King of All Media” Howard Stern Re-signs With SiriusXM For 5 More Years
admin | Dec 09, 2010 | Comments 0

After months of rumors and reported deals with the likes of Apple, Howard Stern has officially announced that he has signed a new deal with SiriusXM for 5 years.

There has been much speculation as to whether or not Stern would resign with SiriusXM, or go to another form of broadcasting. There has even been talk of retirement for the king of all media. But luckily for fans of the Stern Show, Howard isn’t going anywhere.

5 years ago this month, Stern signed a record breaking $500 million dollar deal for 5 years, which was set to expire next week. The financial details of the new deal have not been released, but are likely to be even higher than the half-a-billion-dollars that Stern signed for last time.

More details to come. What do you think of Stern resigning for 5 more years? Leave a comment below!

I gotta believe that Stern is close to the only draw for the service...
They may as well give him all their $$

I know that I miss listening in the mornings. Quite an ego, but laughed my A$$ off many times.

Now I listen to The Free Beer and Hot Wings Show daily.
Pretty funny often too, but I admit missing the dirty raunchy Stern stuff!

5 years ago, sirius had not yet merged with xm. At which time, they had 600k subscribers. Now, they claim to have close to 20m subscribers. If you look at their financial statemenet, you wonder how they can pay HS that kind of $ when their showing a huge loss. The upside is that many new cars now come with a 1 year subscription to Sirius / xm. And at 15 bucks/month, many do not renew their subscription, however, there are always new subscribers filling their spot when new cars get sold. I just dont see how he can justify that kind of salary. sounds crazy

i agree!

I'm shocked they have enough subscribers to cover 500 million....in the local car audio circles recent rumor has said the Sirius portion of the XM/Sirius marriage was going to go away soon due to the overhead involved in operating 2 different operations that provide very similar service under one company...

I'd rather listen to Tom Lykis
