How NOT to Tow a Stuck Front End Loader

I had a buddy that worked at a local paper mill. I couldn't believe all the BS they got away with while the union protected their jobs. Sleeping on the job, SURE! Drunk at work, SURE! Screwing around in the control room and stopping production because you were messing with a computer you had shouldn't have been on, SURE!

Bragging about sleeping on the job, using the city shop to wash and detail personal vehicles...the list goes on and on. I remember one story about his crew intentionally sucking a concrete block through a $17k leaf vacuum completely destroying the machine. They were bored and just wanted to see what would happen.:rolleyes:

I worked for the UAW and IAM. I have tales like everyone has heard.
PLENTY of time and effort goes into protecting the POS workers that do not deserve a job and would not last 2 minutes in a non-organized workplace. BUT...there are tons of high quality folks that do work hard and appreciate the extra benefits that they are granted. What irked me the most was the union leadership. Just like any political arena, popularity helps a BS spewing candidate to the top, regardless of qualifications. BTW, no longer a union employee and have no desire to do so again. I have lots of friends that I would hate to see take a beating if their union was f'd (some good quality skilled people). There were far too many abusers in the work force, union leadership, and the company managment too. Plenty of blame to go around:(

The loader "crash" was pretty funny!
The window looker's commentary was hilarious too.

Problem is that he is a loader driver not a loader operator. During a snow emergency any azzhole can drive a loader. They just can't operate.

its scary.

"Union workers" is being used here as a general term. I belong to a union and can say that our union has made many concessions with contractors to keep our men working. So don't go bashing all unions.

unions do a lot of good to keep people working. just gov't unions aren't the best. :willy_nilly:
