House passes health care bill

So now you get to pay for these same people to be able to go to your health care provider and get the same treatment and put you in the back of the line there as well. Last time I cut my fingure open on a job site I was in the room getting stitches in less then 15 min.

I was talking to some one the other day and they run an ambulance company dispatch. They said that they have this one lady that keeps calling them for an emergency, they take her to the hospital and then she refuses service and walks across the road to her friends house. She is using the ambulance as a freeking taxi service! I say after the first time she should be on her own. That is how you fix leaches on society you cut them off. You want to see a lot of capable people start to work, cut off their welfare!

We dealt with that, or tried to in detroit (private ambulance co.) we had several people readily id'd as frequent flyier ER shoppers (would want to go to differnt ER's where they could fain pain for drugs) We had a form they had to sign before transports stating that their condition was not a medical emerg. and that if medicare did not pay they would be responsible for the bill. They started calling other companies directly. MCare needs a clause like most private ins. ER visits have a huge deductable if you are not admited.

What does my health care have to do with your inane quote?

You just pull stuff out of your azz and expect us to believe anything you say?

Do some friggin research and educate yourself.

It feels like the wingnuts LIKE what the insurance companies are doing to us.

I hear that you are a perfect gentleman in person.

The banks and brokerage houses werent contolled by the government.

I guess the FDIC and the Federal Reserve banks are figments of my imagination. Every bank has 2 regulatory exams each year, one by the state the other by the feds.

Many banks troubles are not mortgage related but rather simple real estate aquisition and development loans. When property values decline by 50% the banks collateral is not adequate to cover what was once a properly reserved loan.

I am not aware of a universal health care system that has failed, which ones did you have in mind?

Depends on what you consider failure. I used to fly with an air ambulance company taking Canadians out of the U.S. and back to Canada. I often felt like I was abandoning them when I dropped them off at the recieving hospital.

I had one transport out of Florida with a guy who had a blockage of blood flow to his legs. His foot had gangrene. I remember as we were on the tarmack loading him into the Lear how his wife BEGGED me as the flight surgeon to declare him "too unstable to fly". The woman literally dropped to her knees and begged at my feet to not take her husband back to Canada for his surgery and further care.

If you don't consider that a failure of universal health care, just sit tight and you wil get to see it first hand if this administration gets their way ...

I don't see too many people flocking to Russia for their open-heart surgical needs.

When I was in training at Johns Hopkins, the Russian doctors would be flown to Hopkins to get the best care in the world.

Anything short of that opinion is a bunch of B.S. smoke and mirrors by those with a political agenda ...

I would think you would call it a failure when your citizens leave the country to get their health care needs taken care of. Or when it takes 90 days to get an operation that can be done here in 10 from the time of injury.

I read the Canadians have to wait months for an MRI. If you have brain cancer, that's real bad new.

Where in the Western world are people waiting 90 days to get critical surgeries after sustaining an injury?

Americans are travelling overseas to get affordable elective surgeries.

India is supposed to have some of the best med schools and hospitals that make it affordable to fly there and have sugery done.

I'm trying get a few nickles together so I can go to Costa Rica to have dental work done.

I really hope this does not pass the senate.

If this does pass, who's with me to start investing in a state of the art health facility on an island somewhere close by?

Not necessarily the case. It might be months if you want one from 9-5 but I had two within 2 weeks when I had my shoulder operation because I did not have a problem going at 10pm.

That's exactly what my sister says. She's in med school, and no one in her community approves of this obamanation; the doctors and surgeons that she studies under are outraged. There's a good reason why the world comes here for their most demanding health care needs. Our system is certainly not problem free, but from it has developed some of the finest medical facilities and professionals in the world.

Fix insurance, fix the exploitation and illegitimate use of our facilities - but not the system.

My bro is in Med school right now, he is not too happy! He says the family practice doc's are going to take it the worst

You can not find a family practice Doctor in Houston, there is no "money" in it according to the papers. You have to go to a clinic and then get referred to a specialist to get a simple xray.

I have excellent insurance and yet every GP I have had has moved on or taken up a specialty

Small towns away from Houston have no GP's for the same reason.

Small towns would likely benefit under a health care plan in as much as it might pay to be a GP again

Within 2 weeks and at 10:00 pm. Hmm, I'm not sure that's what I call not a failure. If pressed I can drive less than 3 miles and have one before 5, guaranteed.

I know several Dr's who have said that if this passes they wil retire rather than taking the pay cut and raised taxes......
