HORBA is very sorry to have to report the death of one of our Board members......John Crouse.

He was 79 years old and died of an injury from a fall at home.

Burial was private.

He was a true pioneer of offshore.....may he rest in peace.

So sad.:( I had the opportunity to do some business with him years back. What an interesting man. He sure was a character.

I was really looking forward to his sequel to Searace.

May he rest in peace.

Kurt

Wow, very sorry to hear this.
My condolences to his friends and family, and everyone that has worked with him in the offshore community.
I have his book, and when I first got it I was overwhelmed by the information he had documented.
This is a loss to the offshore community.
Godspeed.

Sad news indeed, he was the connection to racing for a whole generation of fans, including me ! RIP:(

OMG...so sorry to hear about his passing. I was looking forward to his long awaited update to his "Searace" book. Well, now Don has some great company - godspeed!

A unique guy who had the gift of writing - I often spoke to him at various races years ago - He would always tell such wonderful stories of what happened at races - Rest in peace John !

Sorry to hear that Charlie. May he rest in peace. I know you spent a lot of time with him. Thank you from us all. It's tough to lose a friend.

Thank you for letting us know.

Very sad. He was a unique person and his stories were priceless.

RIP John..............God Speed

I bought a copy of Searace and he sent it the same week. From his writing it seemed he was in the "thick of it" when legends were being made. That book along with Blue Thunder sit on my desk as I type.

Did he ever finish the sequel to Searace?

Great loss and a great writer!
Powerboat mag was never the same without him!
RIP.
pp and fam.

I agree, "Powerboat" magazine wasn't nearly as interesting after John left. His column would give you a clear impression of what went on at the previous month's races. He really could "paint a picture" with his words. I have a signed copy of "Searace" that now seems a bit more special.

RIP.
