I always tell everyone to check all the majors. State Farm is up there as my favorite, but you have to request a review every once in awhile to keep all of them hinest.

With an increase like that you'd think you were just updated into a flood zone or something.

My home insurance went up 15% this year. My Bikes Insurance went up 10%.Thanks to all the people living below sea level . I shopped around . The Insurance Co. need some honest competion . With the economy the way it is why would my insurance go up now ? I've owned numerous homes for 30 years without a single claim .
Can you sense my frustration ?

Open the telephone book, Business yellow pages, look under I and you should find ' Insurance'. I'm sure you will see a few (LOL) agents. Call and get quotes......it's easier than you think.

An Independent agent will not automatically switch you to a lower priced Company. Two Reasons...........1) he cuts his commission and 2) he must maintain certain premium levels with all his different Companies.

When you check for Homeowner's Premiums check your auto at the same time as most Companies give Homeowner/Auto discounts.

Companies and Agents tell you how much service means and remember that when looking at switching. If you are one who has never had a claim.....remind them that you have never needed service thus you don't know if their service is worth a dammn. Also, if you have not received an annual call from your agent to see if there have been any major changes in your lifestyle... Tell him you won $100,000,000.00 in the lottery a few years ago and you thought it might be time to have other agents look at your needs.

It pays to shop every few years.

Ha, move to south FL and you would dream of those rates...... 3800 sq ft newer home, all hurricane code built, east of 95....... $5800 a year NEVER a claim even after 3 hurricanes.

Same here.. 1400sqft and 2100 with state farm.No claims. Most insurance companies will not cover our house because it is pier and beam and they say that that is an additional entry point so we have to pay a little more.
