Grills?

What does everyone use to cook-out while on the boat? What brand grill, model, and why do you like it? Looking to buy one, just not sure which one yet. Thanks!

Magma, and go for the Party size. We were just talking about these Sunday, at least two of us have them that are over 20 years old, great product.

Try Kumma grills great price and are made for marine. Magma too expensive. Kummas can be set on the swim platform, and don't blow out with a gust of wind.

I have a Magma Kettle II, the smaller size. I mount it on the starboard gunwale using one of the covered Magma mounts. Works well, it's not in the way. I also have a stand for surface mount. I think it was around $130 at WM on sale.

I bought the Magma. On weekends when we are taking the grill, I have a SS rod holder that I mount to the swim platform vertical support. (I know-I know; ready for the backlash.) I bought the rod holder mount for the grill and it works great. I've cooked everything from BBQ chicken, steaks, burgers, and even wraps.

STARVING! But I can always eat, so that's nothing new. I've looked at the Magma grills, very nice, seem well built, but have read some bad reviews on them about blowing out alot. How is the grease spatter, any end up on the side of the boat? I'd like to get one with the rail mount to hang it over the side. I'll have to check into the Kumma grills, never heard of them. Thanks everyone!

The early model Magma's had the issue with the flam blowing out. The new ones do not, and even if you end up with an older one you can get the new burner and bottle attachment that cures it.

I have the mount that leans it over the side of the boat.

There can be some grease dripping. I lay an old towel over the side and under the grill. I highly advise a cover also. You will have more grease drips when you go to put it away. I put the cover on after it cools but before I take it off its mount. Then any grease drips are contained.
