Goldrush falls off trailer onto street

Even if it's only 3/4 up, should not come off in a turn or after a stop. Poping the clutch on the truck should not jerk the rig 20+feet forward. 15k+ weight and friction.. Hmm... something don't add up here, but I want to know what wax they were using. I want some.

Rumor has it that it was still tied to the dock:cheers2:

I am not buying the thing slid off the trailer....a 16000lb boat just doesn't slide around!!!! tie downs or no tie downs at a slow speed the tings doesn't move around unless you reall and I mean really do something stupid!!!!

Just a few days ago, I came up with an idea for a better transom strap tie-down.
Actually started scribbling some drawings on a notepad that is still on my coffee table.
Anyone interested in taking a look at my idea?
I'm not an engineer, but I think it would be a great improvement even over the conventional loose transom straps.

Looking at the trailer from the pics in the other thread, the trailer bunks have a definite angle to the back allowing the boat to sit level on the trailer. This combined a slick surface and an over taxed bow cable could result in this. Lurch the truck, the cable is either over taxed or maybe damaged from previous launches, cable breaks, boat slides down incline.

Due to my misshap in Nov. 07. I tie down the stearn as well as the outrdives to the trailer. The outdrives are attached to the boat helluva stronger then just "U" bolts to the transom. I got a turn buckle on the bow so it can't have any slack with just a strap or chain. IT CAN'T bob up and down. I drove over something a few weeks ago. Trailer AND boat went up 3 feet in the air and the trailer took the shock with the boat FIRMLY attached. A little ding in the boat from the item I hit, but no biggie. Any new ideas Buoy worth a look.

the one guy said "did that come off of the trailer or somethin?"

no retard, thats how people tow boats now..

but that really sucks about the boat. :(

I thought about that too. The binders and chains we have for our construction equipment are way to big for a standard boat trailer. I need to look into small binders....

Is it possible he pulled out into traffic and had a oh chit moment and threw it in reverse, then slamming on the brakes? Nothing is making any sense in my head about how that could have happened..
