Just had a friend send me a link to a news story in Cape Coral Fla, where Goldrush...... the Miami Boat Show cat from Nor tech.....fell off the trailer onto the street.

There is a video from the news station at NBC-2.com

Glad that there isn't more damage too.

Kind of a good reminder that there is little difference between water at 100+ and concrete when you hit it. ;)

That REALLY should not have happened from taking a slow turn. I have more than 1 cable holding my 24' cat on a trailer that isn't worth as much as the props he broke.

I always get so deflated when I realize that someone has more in propellers than my boat is worth!!!

No matter what happened it's just good to see minimal damage and good that the drive was astute enough to realize what was happening and keep from leaving it high and dry on the ashpalt.....

I think the most important thing we have all learned from this is that, not only does Nor-Tech build one hell of a boat, they also have the best PR/marketing people in the business. I envision a "Men in Black" style van pulling up thirty seconds after this happened, masking tape in hand to cover any reference to Nor-Tech.:26:

"Nothing to see here folks, please disperse."

Now I know who Ted Kennedy called after Chapaquidick:rofl: "Erahhhh, erahhhhh, get me Terry Sobo!!"

if that boat was all the way forward on the trailer it should not have come off even with no tiedowns. something is fishy here

I always ask myself when I hear of one of these incidents, HOW IN THE H E LL does that happen?

I have my winch strap plus a secondary ratchet strap on the bow and two more on the transom when my trailer is loaded. You could roll the sucker and the trailer would stay with the boat.

Even if it's only 3/4 up, should not come off in a turn or after a stop. Poping the clutch on the truck should not jerk the rig 20+feet forward. 15k+ weight and friction.. Hmm... something don't add up here, but I want to know what wax they were using. I want some.
