Funds Brave restore thread

$500, two cases of beer, a carton of smokes, free hauling, and I'll wet slip it in Rossford and you and the Mrs. can come use it any time you are in town. :)

Well ****, my trump card was going to be a pair of Skynyrd tickets......I guess you win.:(

I requested off the 5th Tuesday of every month, just to make sure. ;)

Soo.... what a nice morning for a boat ride. Very well mannered boat considering it is a beast. We took it out and cruised for maybe 45 minutes at around 3000 rpm. Properly trimmed, and full of fuel... it's a 44mph cruise at 3000rpm. Exactly what I was shooting for. Turns very nice. Sounds incredible. They are just loud enough with the silent choice open that they sound serious, but not too loud.
If you are around Rob, I am thinking about Clammies and a spin around Grose Ile tomorrow and a color cruise in Toledo and a stop at the Docks on Sunday.
Tonight I am going to troubleshoot the white nav light and the stereo, and stick my "OH" numbers on.

Good to hear its back on the water. I'm busting my ass to at least have one ride in mine this weekend after spending the last year and a half rebuilding it from the hull up.

I'll hold onto the cruiser for now, but at least you guys set the market value:ack2:

John, congrats on getting her out and completing the build.
Look forward to hearing more as the break-in and tweaking continues.
Be sure to share pictures from the weekend cruise.
It has to feel great to have her on the water!

Thanks.
We'll have to start a new org. Northwest Ohio Marine Remanufacturers Association. :D
Good luck.

I am glad to hear you got that first ride ride under your belt!
After the Fun of things like Replacing the Tank and Gutting the Bilge and many hours working in cramed conditions, it was all worth it when you pushed the sticks forward and She rolled onto plane.

Congratulations on Job well done!!!

Rob

Hey, thanks very much. Today was going to be a boating day, but ended up being a troubleshooting/fixing day. Not the engines, but everything that comes up once they are done. A slight leak at a tank fitting. Bad resused batteries.
That kind of thing. Dropped new batteries in and was good to go.
The fuel gauge wasn't working (New tank, new sending unit, old wires) The tank sending unit (heading for the S terminal) was connected to the wire coming from the post that is normally seeking 12v from the ignition (I) at a bus bar. I rerouted and verified it worked and had a half a tank reading. Wondered if it was anywhere near accurate. I installed a 127, so I took a cruise on the trailer up to Kroger and put 29 gallons in. I figured if my math was right when I did the tank, the end result would be a reading of just a hair under 3/4 tank. It was dead on.
Also fixed the stereo which had a broken 12v wire deep in the abyss.
Looking forward to a ride tomorrow. :)

Have fun! I wish I could accompany you, but I am buried in school work. Im so looking forward to being able to have a life again.

I'd be nervous trying to launch in the wind at this point. Although I guess a N wind could push a little water back our way.
Went to Bolles on Sunday and the water was so low that the (usable) dock was really, really short. That wind wanted to grab the stern and take off with it. Hard to keep an upwind 28 footer against an 8 foot dock by the bow. :o

Speaking of which, we were a little rich. Gonna reduce the jetting and see. May have a pair of 1050 Dominators for sale in favor of some 850s.

I'll trade you this jacket which was presented to me by:leaving:
