Fountain files Chapter 11

How's things been Matt?? Things are good here...Babies getting big. Had him out on the Cig this past weekend.:sifone:

I started writing this rebuttal but as I wrote, I started agreeing with you, so I deleted it.

I don't quite buy the whole "he's done soooooo much for the sport" crap, like he's the second coming but he's done a great job promoting his boat (even if he lies to do so....:ack2:). And you're right...I'm sure my disdain for him does purely lie with his BS antics.

Oh well, I still wish the company the best and hope they pull through....SEE! I can be the bigger man!!!!:sifone:

The only way you're gona be a bigger man is in a pair of Kelly's heels:sifone:

It's only us...Powerboat enthusiasts that truly see the hype he creates. "Everyday America" still calls offshore powerboats "cigarette boats" and most have no clue what a Fountain is.

This made me laugh thinking about some of the things people have asked me. I wish this was true, but I think it is kind of regional. Most of the people in my immediate area think my CIG is a knockoff boat - ask why I don't trade it in for a Fountain.

I'd probably take up drinking heavily if that happened too often.....:sifone:

Well yea, being in Va, I'm sure Fountain is a bit more well known.

Bill, Don't share my trade secrets about wearing Kelly's shoes!! :sifone:

As long as we're on the subject;

Reggie I used to have an extreme respect for in his racing days. He was as fearless as the rest of the pioneers on her.

When he started his boat company, and tested and raced them all, had a burning desire to own one and my respect probably grew.

When he started the step "I invented it" stuff. Waned a little. But at the same time, he made performance boating affordable and at the forefront for a number of years for many who otherwise would not have been there. After that wouldn't buy one, but still respected the accomplishments.

When he brought the canopy boat to the F classes, it was one of two things that majorly hurt offshore racing (in my opinion) at that time.

CatKiller stuff ruined my current admiration, but I do not let that carry over into my past respect. So, my opinion, he's done a lot to promote and demote.

And, I hope the company survives in some way, along with all performance boat builders.:)

Exactly!! In the name of self promotion....

In the Cat Killer video- where Reggie was laughing about another boater's boat breaking down- that's where it ended for me.
