As long as we're on the subject;
Reggie I used to have an extreme respect for in his racing days. He was as fearless as the rest of the pioneers on her.
When he started his boat company, and tested and raced them all, had a burning desire to own one and my respect probably grew.
When he started the step "I invented it" stuff. Waned a little. But at the same time, he made performance boating affordable and at the forefront for a number of years for many who otherwise would not have been there. After that wouldn't buy one, but still respected the accomplishments.
When he brought the canopy boat to the F classes, it was one of two things that majorly hurt offshore racing (in my opinion) at that time.
CatKiller stuff ruined my current admiration, but I do not let that carry over into my past respect.
So, my opinion, he's done a lot to promote and demote.
And, I hope the company survives in some way, along with all performance boat builders.
