If it's the OEM muffler and exh manifold, it's flanged at the manifold, and just goes into the muffler with a std muffler clamp at the other end. I can get you the pipe, gasket and the warning decal set for the price they quoted you. Are you sure they didnt add the decal set to the quote?
I never mentioned the decals, the muffler itself is in excellent condition, and I forgot about the engine serial#. I've been grinding and Ospho'ing all day, it is starting to look good, probably prime tomorrow and paint later in the day.
OK, then look at the exh pipe carefully. If it is flanged on both ends, it's some weird aftermarket setup. If it's flanged one side, pokes into the muffler on the other side, its the stock setup I quoted. The decal set is more than the pipe, dont have the numbers in front of me but they really like them suckers...
you might wanna go run one with foam filled tires before you do that. I did it in our gradall and it sucks to drive.
especailly, on roads or hard pack. plus it doesn't seem to grip as good in the mud. now if your employees are like my guys, that seem to drive over ever board with nails on the job than its the way to go.
I put new tires when did it for the gradall since i was told that its a mother f-er to replace tires when there foamed. i watched them do the last 2 tires and the foam they used was pretty crazy stuff, as far as expanding goes. plus you got to be able to rotate the tire to spread the foam out evenly.
also i don't think its a good idea to run steel tracks and solid tires/foam filled tires
We got no mud ! occasional sand! mostly rock and gravel. the all terrain lifts are mostly foamed already, one has a new unfoamed which throws off the weight distribution when lifting. We rarely run on the road. The foam is showing through on the LULL, so it is being used for yard duty only.
well smart guy my machine has spent the last 10 yrs in sunny SW florida. weather its sand or mud the foam filled tires don't compress and seem to "dig down" versus an air filled tire. we did mostly residentail and did alot of running down paved streets. back to the foam. the stuff i saw used was in two big plastic totes. 200 gallons a piece. and i was told that the stuffs pretty expensive. but that was almost a 1000 hrs ago and i haven't had to fix a flat.
other note would be find an outside indepenant mechanic thats good and stick with one guy. i found most of the big shops / construction sales and rental stores suck in florida since they pay seems low for mechanics. i found a local guy that was the lead crane mechanic for several yrs at the cat/linkbelt dealer and he's out on his own. the guy can fix anything, goes why out of his why to make sure things get up and running. your never going to find a dealer with that kind of personal service.
let me know how it goes getting the foam filled tires off?
never heard of the machine coming direct with foam filled tires, it was an option originally for me. and most of the mason's i know that use the lull were having the tires filled with "calcium" for counter weight?

Which is one reason I have customers still bringing me their equipment over from the left coast even though I closed my branch over there about 15 years ago...

Agreed about the foam tires having less floatation..
Our skid steers were always ordered with foam filled from the factory. VR forklifts also. I spec foam filled tires on our block buggies, darn things look like porcupines after two days.. Have had a few customers squawk at the cost, but they thank me after the first week. I now have a line of solid tires that we are trying out on some customers equipment, we'll see how that goes...
I found decals for $39.99 from a place out of Ohio (free delivery) Just painted the back hatch Chevy Orange and got some stuff primered before the storm rolled in on me, now that I am back home the sun is coming out.
