Peter, that clip shows Bill Elswick, the owner/driver of Longshot, running up front at the start.

Bill just passed away recently.

He was one of the great race drivers of that era.

On that clip, at the very tail end when you guys are coming back to the docks... there is a woman's voice in the background... saying. " now you know how good the Banana boats are"..
No arguments here.
Looked to be a great race, with some "legends" of the era.
BTW Congrats on that checkered flag.
