Finally: Triple Digits!

I kept a pretty low profile during my build (it took over three years in my backyard) but stuck with it and now we have a blast every time we go out running through the San Juan Islands in NW Washington State.

I converted a 30ft Cobra Terminator offshore racing Cat to gas turbine power. Originally running the production class this Kevlar hull was ideal for my project.

I just got done shoving the fuel tanks all the way aft and now it gets some serious air. Our last time out several speed runs were in excess of 102mph and I've still not had it wide open yet.

With 1400hp on tap, this boat is like driving a Lamborghini. It corners flat, is predicable when airborne, overall a very stable and forgiving hull in all kinds of water.

I can't wait to begin boating again in another couple months.

Cool project... kind reminds me of the coyote riding on the rocket while chasing the roadrunner.... cant beleive you fit the turbine in the there... good job!

Outstanding project.......

Can't wait to see the build story and pics....

In the San Juans at 100+????? Where at? There some wicked currents and strange rips up there.

When I lived in Portland, I used to go up to the San Juans almost every year for a week or two. Put in at Anacortes and take off for Friday Harbor, eat and fill up, then who knows where we'd go from there......

Got some stories about the south side of Lopez where I thought I was gonna die.... 4th of July one year:eek::eek::eek:.....

Fill us in, and congrats on a really cool project.....

That's some great information that you have on your website. Glad to have your experience on the board.

I see in your pix that you're launching at Shilshoe; the boat looks great. BTW, what is the conical yellow item apparently floating near the port side of the transom? - Jeff
