Is it a Piper Cub, or similar? A couple layers of tape are thicker than the original skin, it's fabric. Duct tape is even waterproof...Mythbusters made a boat out of tape.

It's stronger than it was originally. The structure's intact, the skin is only aerodynamic in this instance, there's no reliance on it for shear flow. I'd fly in it.

I went skydiving in Miami a few years ago and the inside wall of the plane was all duct tape....made me feel better about jumping out of it!

Duct tape bonding gets brittle when cold and wet. Imagine the air speed with a little moisture, then it starting to peel a little causing some drag. Hope she ain't over my house!
