Drain plugs and karma

drain plug gets pulled everytime. I also run the engine before I leave the house. Stop at the local car wash presure wash the boat and engine bay out. Everytime no mater what.

Its a 2hr drive one way for me to get to my main boating location. Thursday nights are for checking oils, electronics, firing engines, loading gear, washing, installing drain plugs and sometimes fueling. I go to the lake to have fun, I dont want any suprises at the ramp at 8 P.M. on a friday. When I pull the boat out, I'm in the ramp parking lot long enough to secure all the tie downs and then I'm gone. The plug gets pulled once I get home. Lake Erie is usually some snotty water and my side bilge vents are a tad over a foot above the waterline at idle. Theres usually a gallon or two of water every time I pull the plug.

only one time have I had to jump into the water after not putting in a plug. took about 20 sec to remember....will never do it again

I've done it once and the bilge pump kicked in before the boat ever got off the trailer so I realized it right away, no harm done.

My plugs still come out after every run.

I always pull the plug. I have never had a boat that would have much water in the bilge, but I just don't like the idea of water being left down there. A dry bilge is not a rotton bilge!
