DOW Back Up To 10,000

Gotta remember the old theme. Down dollar = Good For Exports

I never bought into that one either, but hey, it sounds good if you say it enough

Lets look at reality... the dow is up, now ask why?? Because a lot of key companys are showing increased numbers... they look like they are making money. The truth is they are not. they are profitable not from sales but from trimming. The trimming is people layed off. Unsustainable..you cant have a company with a negative employee count. it's like a fat chick going on the latest crash diet.. *poof* she loses 30 pounds by starving herself. everybody cheers for her... says she looks great.. only problem is that she has become so hungry from starvation that tomorrow she eats 2 large pizzas and within 2 weeks all the weight is back on plus a few pounds. The Dow being up is a rebound relationship with the first chick that would sleep with it.. expense cutting.. the relationship will fail.

This isn't fancy cut and paste or witty tv banter.. this is just my simpleton view of the world.

you want ugly..wait a while untill all these unemployeed people run out of unemployment checks, have no money for the most incedental discretionary spending and they default on there credit card payments and mortgages to eat.. The Anti-balloon is comming and it's going to create a vacume thats goin to suck bigtime.

The DOW is back to 10,000 today.

As I said in a different thread... I believe that the unemployment rate will remain high for several months. Perhaps two years or longer. As such, the DOW will remain "flat" around 10,000.

Uh huh. When the dollar was up, I bought a nice (real) new Rolex in Italy from a jeweler for $610.

That's the thing about a strong dollar. It makes all that we import so much less expensive. Nowadays that's half our cars, 30% of our food and 90% of our petroleum, not to mention every single consumer product sold in Wal Mart and every store at your local mall.
