Take a look at the Canon VIXIA HF20 HD. it has a 32 gig hard drive and a card slot. My freind has this one and it takes awesome video. I think he paid around 600.00 for it. You may be able to find it on sale

I bought this Sony Handicam a couple of months ago for my daughter's wedding. It takes excellent HD video and doubles as a camera. Small and compact, the only drawback is does not have a view finder, you film using the video screen. Takes a couple of times to get used to. It is a good buy at $499. Sony HDR-CX/R.

uhmmm... the sony night shot...I dont know if it has been changed, but there was a filter or a simple mod you could do with it that would basically turn it into xray vision. I have seen shots where bathing suits etc suddenly were completely seethru.. 
Sony Xray cameras
Xray cameras allows to see through clothes and find hidden objects.
SXIR is the technology, which allows spy equipment such as the Sony Nightshot Xray filter, or xray cameras to see through clothes, dark windows and sunglasses as well as detecting forged documents.
SXIR technology has been adapted and marketed as xray cameras , x-ray vision, and infrared pass filters. Unlike the x-Ray Glasses you probably saw advertised in the back of comic books however, this technology really does see through many types of clothing. They are ideal for law enforcement officers, security personnel and other surveillance such as looking for hidden objects, without being too intrusive.
The way it works is rather simple really. Many types of clothing allow light and infrared light to pass through the fabric. This light is reflected back through the clothing, off the skin, to our naked eyes. What we normally see is both the reflected normal light (off the clothing and the skin underneath) mixed with the Infrared light (off the skin). The lens filters the normal light out, leaving only the Infrared light and some other ambient light waves. The effect is , the clothing looks something like glass.
Not all clothing allows xray camera IR light to pass through. The clothing, which works best with these IR filters, is Silks, swimwear (most swimwear is designed to allow some UV light to pass through to help with tan lines, and in doing so, allows the IR to pass through as well), and most types of synthetic material.
Since it is IR and not x-ray vision (which is good, because who wants to look at bones?), what you see is in color.

I have a Flip HD - it works great if you want to take video of your activities on a personal or Non Pro way. As in it's not going to be a production movie. It works really well, has all the software on the camera, so you can USB plug and play in any PC. Takes 18 frames per sec and you can pull any one for a pic. There is good editing software. and for $35 you can get the Mfg Water case that is good to 50 ft. All for $200 it works great. Good way to document your life and take some good clips.

the problem with the hard drive versions is once they are full, youre done.. if you are out for a weekend of boating with no laptop to unload on, you could fill it in a few hours.. If you get a mem card version, you can keep throwing cards at it and party all weekend.. jes sayin.
