I don't see anything funny about this whole situation. It's really bad for the sport, the 400+ employees, all the suppliers and the list could keep going.

And, If I had to bet, Reggie will still be around and some form of boatbuilding.

No Bill I can agree with you on the employees, vendors etc. but when a guy makes a sport out of slanted publicity then he is open season. Cat Killing, Poker Run Sponsorship he never paid for, etc is the Reggie Fountain that is an idiot!

Reggie is a proven winner, has built more offshore powerboats than anyone else and is a legend but this guy wears two very distinct hats (one cool, one not).

I agree totally. The lose of a major employer in our back yard is NOT funny. We have all had a good laugh or two at Reggie's expense. But he has invested a lot in this community, and provided employment for many people. Not to mention provided a pretty damn competitive boat for the performance enthusiast.

I had never been to fountains website until a link was posted here I think that there is definatly a part of it where he is pretty much stroking his ego and that is what makes people draw a line on one side or the other.

So the question I ask is could reggie turn around and buy this maybe by using someone else bidding or even directly?

That is where my bet is going to be placed. Build it up, play hard, loot it out & then walk away from your contracts you "didn't really want to get into" & have a fresh slate to do what you want to do with. He has said it many times. He wished he still had the control of the company. Pre-BK.
