We learned yesterday that Fort Myers Offshore Club puts its fundraising efforts towards school scholarships for youth.

We know the Platinum Club supports " Puttin on the Wish"

What do the other clubs support with their charitable efforts on here??

We (NJ Performance Powerboat Club www.njppc.com) host our Annual Event SHORE DREAMS FOR KIDS here at the Jersey Shore.
Last year we hosted about 1,000 kids from Special Olympics, Make A Wish, Specialized Children's Hospital, Children with Cancer & Children with Autism.

First of all Alec thank you for your and Serious Offshore's support for our event yesterday. This will make for a very interesting thread and give the various Clubs around North America and even the world an oportunity to tell us what they support or do in their communities.

Here is FMO's mission statement: Ft. Myers Offshore, Inc. is a Not for Profit Corporation whose membership consists of a group of offshore boating enthusiasts in Southwest Florida, dedicated to raising funds and awarding a number of academic scholarships each year to help worthy individuals graduating from high school, continue their education at institutions of higher learning, including college and university as approved by the Board of Directors.

The Chesapeake Bay Powerboat Association supports several charities each year . We have been supporting the March of Dimes since 1992 as patrol boats for the Great Chesapeake Bay Swim. The Coast Guard will not allow the event to happen without our group coordinating and manning the safety fleet. Each year we supply 50+ boats from Jet Skis all the way to 60 plus foot Sport Fish as support for the event that has raised close to 2 million dollars for the March of Dimes. We also were the first group in the nation to host a Poker Run for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, each year our event raises somewhere around $50k for that organization. We also support the Wounded Warrior Project and this year look to ramp that up with not only an event day but also a VIP day at our offshore race to be held in October. I have been a member since 1989 and am exceedingly proud of all the great things we do each year to give back for all the great things we have been fortunate enough to have.

Thanks for asking, Dave. She is turning into a remarkable young woman. As you know she lost most of her family in that accident. She has found some family in Germany. She is studying German while working part time and is planning on going to Germany this summer to meet them. We are continuing to help finance her studies including language. She will return to school late summer. She often expresses her appreciation for what FMO has done for her. That help was made possible by so many generous people in the offshore boating community.

Bob and Cat'astrophe are both quite active in helping Performance Boat Club of Canada. The club picks a different charity for each event. We did over $50k last summer.

We at Liquid Jungle Motorsports have always donated our proceeds to children’s charities. We started out with the big name national charities like American Cancer Society and Epilepsy Foundation etc. After 3 years we switched to helping local families with children in need. We also saw our donations increase when we did this. People seemed to be much more willing to give then they put and actual face to an event. We’ve been fortunate enough to have some wonderful children and their families come and visit us. This link shows what we’ve done over the years.

Matt Trulio said it before and I really think it's true.

The Performance Boating World (those mentioned above plus those that haven't) is such a small piece of the overall boating "pie" but it really seems that we give back way more than other boating segments.

For example: Sea Ray holds their Aqualooza every July. Its a great event and one huge party. Imagine if they could tie in a charity to it?

Anyone know if the sportfishing scene does any charity stuff?
