FLORIDA KEYS — The
Monroe County Sheriff’s
Office is investigating four
boat thefts in the Keys over
the past month.
• Oct. 4, a Key Largo man
reported his $14,400 17-foot
Action Craft flats boat and
trailer stolen from the parking
lot of the Key West Inn
resort. The victim lives on
a sailboat in that area and
last saw his boat the night
before. The boat was recovered
at 17175 SW 232nd St.
in Miami on Oct. 5 by Miami
Dade Police. It was stripped,
but the trailer was in fair
condition.
• Oct. 20, an 18-foot 2003
Vtec flats boat was stolen
from a home on Camelot
Drive in Tavernier. The yellow
and white vessel was
on a 21-foot Rocket Trailer.
The owner said he last saw
it parked at his home in late
September.
• Oct. 28, Islamarine
Boats in Islamorada reported
a $15,000, 24-foot 2013
Pathfinder Maverick was
stolen between Oct. 24 and
28 from a fenced storage lot.
Someone used bolt cutters
to cut a chain used to secure
the gate. The boat is light
green with a white bottom.
It had a 300 horsepower
Yamaha outboard engine
and over $6,000 worth of
electronics on board, as well
as fishing equipment. It was
on a 2008 Amera Trail trailer.
It remains missing.
• Tuesday, a $145,000, 34-
foot 2004 Sea-Vee boat with
two 250 horsepower Suzuki
engines was reported stolen
from the Artic-Temp parking
lot at 9699 Overseas
Highway. The owner said it
was there Monday evening
when he left for the day and
was missing Tuesday morning.
The vessel is light green
in color and has the name
“Out-of-Range” on the side
of it. It was on a 2014 All
American Trailer.
