Cowes-Torquay Race 2012

Cool shots. I think that inflatable had too much air in the tubes. Or Helium???

:-) He is one of our competitors and won the race - he runs a single 315 Yanmar in a deep Vee RIB, has quite a low top speed but is very reliable indeed, we were leading him by quite a distance when we lost a blade which the old saying that to finish first, first you have to finish!

Yes, the classes are by the total capacity of the engine(s), we are in the up to 6.5 litre (diesel) class, so with twin 3 litre diesels we fit in nicely, the Steyr 3.25 litre diesels also fit in or you can have a larger single althogh if you have a single engine you have to have an auxiliary (kicker) engine.

When is your next event?

We don't usually have races in October so I told my wife to go ahead and book a holiday (we're going on Monday to Cape Verde for 10 days.) - then someone decided to put a race on quite local to us! Next event will be next year now, the main one being the Cowes to Monte Carlo race next June.

That is some fun looking offshore water. Too bad it's only for 184 miles or so:sifone:.....
