That was another hull...Here is Mike Drewry's 37' Innovation Maelstrom (the very first hull) after repowering with OMC's. It was an Open class hull and held the Kilo record for a while. Billy Sirois and Al Copeland drove it to a victory in Detroit with Mercury T-4 power wearing Popeye's colors. They actually used the T-4's off my earlier Shadow Cat (2 plus the spare).

T2x are you the guy from NJ that fixed the deck on the Shadow and Nicky came down to pick it up. After the time Mike took the boat to a race with out Nicky knowing about and busted the deck.

OK now that you guys got my mine back in gear. We had the 2 two V-8's in 1987 at KW. Maelstrom gave us the old ACR SPINT boat to run in 1988. Here are some pictures of it, we were now back home with three Merc 2.4's

I must have been wrong about thinking the first Maelstrom(twin Rudes) was in '88 because I was there in 87 and 88. If he ran the twin engine in 87, what did Nicky run in 88 in Key West? I dont think I have ever seen the triple engine maelstrom with E&B colors before...

No, I was the guy who poured drinks for Pete Aitken.....:D

Carl Regier (sp?). It was making me a little crazy, but that was the guys name who owned the one that rode up Jesse James rooster tail. I have the video at home. There is some classic narration on that one.

I rememeber when the boat got back to Missouri, and was parked at a local marina busted up for some time. I never really knew what happened to it. I was 12 at the time est 1986, but I think it had side by side canopies and twin v8 evinrudes. It was really cut down, and might have been wood maybe. I'm not sure I was 12.

It must be a Maelstrom thing this one was hanging out on the docks at the wet pits the same day. It was a race in Marathon. I've got a couple boxes full of old race photos, they are lose and not in any order, so when I some free time I scan em

It was definitely wood......a one of a kind hull...and smaller than the later glass 32 footers.

Talk me out or into this.

Don't know much about this boats history, but I talked to the seller.
We'r dealing. Some one talk me into this,, so I feel good about it.. or talk me out of it..
We'r planning to do an even trade for my Formula.
I need a nother project boat like a hole in the head, but it might be fun, and I can join all the crazy cat owners.. :)
The debate? Cat's VS. "V"'s ?/ could be over.. get one of each.
