Wow,what a great program to get customers in the door!I would have a easier time building my own airplane on a Island.I wish the paperwork was a little easier, and the Goverment web page would work, and the help line answer the dam phone!Other then that it's a great program!

I just heard on the news that they didn't think a billion dollars was going to last a week with this program.

The dealer I work for has only gotten four so far

I saw on World News tonight it took someone 5 hours to do the paper work. Yes the mentioned the other problems mentioned too. It looks like the money will be gone quick. 125 million of the 1 billion already at 7 pm

just about everyone i know that used the program bought a Kia or some other foreign car. Wonder if any one is keeping track of how much of this money is leaving the country under this brilliant plan.

They also said some people were trading in SUV's for other SUV's that got 2 mpg more, which would encourage people to drive more. Government needs to stay the fvck out of business. They could fvck up an anvil.

Dude! It's only a $15,000 fine if you have a violation of an 80 page law... Take a chance!!!:26:

This program will drive up prices for the beaters that the buy here pay here guys usually sell! Hopefully it did get some traffic for the new car guys. Hopefully if they didn't buy under the "cash for cluckers" program if will generate a sale at a later date!

By the way,it was a 130 page download for the rules! The word to the dealers is it has been temporarily suspended so that NHTSA can determine the amount of funds required at this time.I told you this program was a little loose.:ack2:

A dealer I talked to already did 200. He was basically doing the paperwork since it was announced on July 1st and holding it until the start date a week ago.

He told me it would only take .....every dealer that was eligible to take 12 clunkers in for the program to max out.

Not really since you had to have owned the clunker/insured it for one year prior to sale so no one would be able to "flip" a clunker for the $4500 offered.
