It looks like i may be moving to Chatanooga Tn....i want to know what the boating scene is there...rivers...lakes....things to do....anyone have any first hand experience in that area....thanks...

I spent 20 years of my life there. The boating and partying are very strong. Performance boating is not that big of a draw. Everyone runs Sundancers or equivalent. Most boating occurs on the upper side of the Dam where the lake is decent and the river runs all the way up to Knoxville if you care to go to a UT game by water. Oh there are 4 marinas on the upper side of the Dam, the biggest and best being Island Cove Marina. Great party marina check it out. Its also fun to go thru the locks and run downtown to the riverfront. The Aquarium, restrurants and bars are all accessible. Last but not least the biggest event is Riverbend which is a big party lasting 1 week. Multiple bands beer tents and food line the downtown riverfront. There are laways 2-3 headliners worth watching from your boat. All and all its a great place and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Unfortunatley I no longer live there!
