Boaters Missing off of Key Biscayne

KEY BISCAYNE (CBSMiami) – Miami’s fire boats and divers are searching the waters off Key Biscayne Saturday morning after a boater reported three people missing.
Officials said the man frantically swam to shore early Saturday morning.
Rescue crews and dive teams reportedly located two other people off Key Biscayne Island, however, their conditions are not known.
One person remains missing.
The boater who made it to shore said the boat he was on with the three others started sinking Friday night around 9 p.m.

4 fishermen alive after spending 10 hours in the water

MIAMI, Fla (WSVN) -- Four fishermen that were thrown overboard are alive after spending more than 10 hours in the waters off Key Biscayne.

The search for the missing fisherman was launched around 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning when one of the men was able to reach shore and call 911. A City of Miami Fire Boat along with assets from the U.S. Coast Guard were dispatched

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the four men were thrown overboard when their 22-foot Seacraft capsized around 7 p.m. Friday night. Two of the men were rescued by a good Samaritan, one man was rescued by a City of Miami Fire Boat, and the third man swam to shore.

Lt. Cmdr. Gabe Somma from the U.S. Coast Guard said in a press release, "these four men are returning home to their loved ones today because they were smart, prepared and wore their life jackets."
