Boat winterizing with a raccoon

We are in the middle of winterizing customer's boats on the lake, today,Jeff went to a boathouse, removed the boat cover, and found an adult raccoon, apparantly been living in the boat for awhile. Now,raccoons can be aggresive, and often carry rabies,so Jeff was wishing he had not left his pistol in the truck. After a faceoff the coon left,Jeff got the boat winterized, but it was a real mess, coon poop everywhere, upholstery trashed with chewing everywhere.I called the customer to tell him the bad news. So,should I charge extra for hazardous duty pay?:)

yep, those buggers can do some serious damage. i found some paw prints on the brand new cockpit upholstery i had done one spring. I tossed a light in there and it seemed to keep them away.

You need a redbone. :D

I try to keep plenty of poison, traps, ect...outside the boat to keep all the critters pre occupied.

your fuked, where there is one racoon theres a dozen and once they get established thy dont give up. they are smart little buggers too, my friend had them in his attick, he boarded up where they were getting in, they ripped the boards off, he boarded up better, they ripped a new hole in a different place, he put a radio in the attic because they don't like noise, they smashed the radio. he finally live trapped over 14 of them, then they got scuba lessons in the lake. your mission, if you choose to accept it, will not be easy, but you must HUNT and KILL!!!

This reminds me of my buddy who discovered a couple of crackheads living in his Carver near Chicago. They did similar damage as racoons. But with more poo.

He called the cops and had them arrested, semi naked.

They did 50k worth of damage.

I had a dam coon tear open one of my seats the winter before last....luckily it was only one of the seats in just one of the panels

My customer's interior is pretty much destroyed. Critters seem to really love vinyl.I told him to call his insurance company, could be 2-3thousand $'s.Bad thing is the coon is probrably camping out again tonite,as no one is around the house till Sat.

Another advantage of having the boat in the garage behind the boat so you can just go out and sit in it a couple times a week. :)

I've only been in mine twice this week!!!!

ahh, the joys of walking out to the garage just sit in the boat. I sometimes make motor noises when I'm sitting in the boat! :03: :03:

I've woke up with raccoon eyes a number of times....the place even looked like a real raccoon had wrecked the place too!!!!

you could make some money selling Davey Crockette hats...
