Boat Shoveling

Shovel your driveway yes, but I didn't think your supposed to have to shovel your boat!

My floating work dock floats 1600# and is at water level with the snow load on it. It's too snow covered and low down from the main dock to get on to clear it.

My daughters Laser ramp has 800# of floatation at the end and bolts to the dock at the other and it was about a foot under water. I managed to shovel the Laser ramp without falling in (one hand on the shovel, one hand on the tie-downs

Tomorrow I need to shovel about 3 feet of snow out of the boat (down side of an open center console).

I think I need a beer and a nap.

70 and sunny/partly cloudy today in Southern Arizona.
I'm not missing that white stuff at all.:ack2:
The only problem I have is we only get rain once every 2-3 months, and we have to take those days as a home-made chicken soup, or tomato soup and grilled ham and cheese sandwich day.
The 110 in the summer really isn't bad at all as long as you're in the shade, or at least have a light breeze.

My wife (age 36) nor my kids have ever even seen real snow..........

In my neigborhood at Christmas time they dump a 3 ft high 15 ft diameter pile of "snow" on the clubhouse lawn for the kids to play with. The pile actually lasts about 10 hours before it is gone. The last 6 inches of the pile seems to hang in there forever!

Until we moved to TN, my wife(27 yrs old) had never seen snow. It didn't take long for her to not like it. Luckily, we don't get very much. We got about 6" last Thurs night and Friday during the day and the schools were closed on Fri, Mon, Tues and Wed. They finally went back to school on Thursday. 4 days (plus the weekend) for 6" of snow. What do you think would happen if we got about 2'?

Damn snow. I suggest you get it out before it does a melt re freeze cycle. The boat acts like a big cooler and once it freezes solid it will take for ever to get it out.

I'm at 8K with a long bed SRW F350 4 door and it seems to help. If it doesn't help, it certainly doesn't hurt enough for me to shovel it out.

Shoveled it out this morning. Bottom 1/4-1/2 inch had already melted and refrozen into a nice ice layer. I leave one floor well partly open to allow melt water out through the bilge since the cockpit drains can freeze over pretty easy.

Why would that matter in the bed of a truck? It's nothing to shovel my truck bed out, more like pushing so is easier than doing the drive way. Just wondering why one would is all? Does it drive better being lighter or doing it so next week when the snow is gone but you still can't use your truck bed or ?? Learn some thing new every day.

I am used to a tonneau and wanted it clean. We have real winter here, and it won't be gone in a week. There will be more.
