Boat salvage, theft recovery, repo boats?

Sorry if I've asked this before, but I'm looking for a marine-boat salvage lot, or boat salvage business. I keep searching, but can't find much other than the place just south of Camdenton. Each time I've been there I've been disappointed in the service. If you are looking for bass-boat stuff, he's your man. But as soon as you mention Bravo drive, Big-block, or the word performance, you get treated like a sidewalk begger.
So, what happens to the theft recoverys, insurance totals and bank repos?

Go to some of the larger marinas. The more insurance work they do the more salvage they have. I used to come up with TONS of stuff when we did insurance work

Gordo,

I used to own a company called MarSalvor. We did almost all of Progressive's claims in Florida, Ga, and Alabama. We liquidated through a company called Salvage Direct. Since, all of that business has been taken over by IAA. Insurance Auto Auctions... who also bought my business in June of this year, I would recommend dealing directly with them( iaa.com).

Another source is Copart. They handle most of the business that comes from Allstate.

Another is Cooper Capital (cooperss.com) and yet another is Certified Sales.

As far as Repos go, the number one source in the country is still National Liquidators (yachtauctions.com)

Hope this helps

T.

National

Hi Gordo -

MID-Ocean (Todd?) mentions National Liquidators. When we bought the 38 TG hull in 2002, we dealt with a fellow there named Ron Brozik. Nice guy, pretty knowledgable, and helpful.

Happy New Year, I hope this year and beyond you have good health.

Barry
