Billy Mays Dead at 50

He was someone you had to like. Seemed like a down to earth guy who also had a great schtick. Ironic that CNBC had a show called "As Seen on TV" where they discussed infomercials. Billy Mays was profiled.
 
Having just turned 50 myself, I'm a little spooked by all these 50-year-olds dropping like flies. But honestly, is this what passes for celebrity anymore? The guy did soap commercials. Not like George Clooney is curing cancer or anything...
 
Our local talk radio discussed this morning that the House of Representatives had a moment of silence before their session in honor of Michael Jackson. They were PO'd that this isn't done for our men and women who serve on a daily basis for our country and our rights, and that it's sad our country is more focused on the losses of celebrities than those fighting for our country.

Couldn't agree more.

And last time I checked, the world was pretty sure that MJ was a child molester. Maybe doing that is OK if you can sing, dance and buy off the parents.

Autopsy came out today- no wonder he was so hyper all the time.


A release from the Hillsborough County medical examiner's office Friday said Mays had last used cocaine days before his death.

The report said that although Mays died from heart disease, cocaine use was a contributing cause of death.
