Best Way to Clean Docklines?

don't like using bleach if possible as the fibers become a bit raw and attract dirt all the more

Even if just soaking them in a bucket, add some liquid fabric softener. It will make the lines coil and work so much better, especially the three strand laid line.

Try using old pillow cases and safety pins.Do not use soap-it weakens the lines. A small amount of Bleach or Oxyclean,if you have city water you probably O.K. without bleach and Use a lot of fabric softener,air dry.So soft,smells purdy!

Ok Guys, I searched the threads and couldn't find any info.
My lines are fairly new and in great shape, just got a bit of mildew and that great odor that goes with it. I am under the impression that I can just throw them in the washing machine (perhaps in a mesh bag) on gentle with laundry detergent. Then into the dryer with fabric softener.
Any thoughts?
