Avalon Pushes The Performance Pontoon Edge

“I would take a pontoon boat over a V-bottom any time. They cut through the seas and give you a very stable ride".

He should enter those offshore record runs that are planned this year. Maybe he can beat Nigel's record in the V-bottom, right?

"West Palm Beach, Fla., to Freeport, Bahamas, mark of 1 hour 3 minutes and 43 seconds for the 100-mile run set by Nigel Hook and Michael Silfverberg in SilverHook, a 48-foot V-bottom, in 2019".

That would be fun to see. I wonder if they could get the UIM and APBA to set up a pontoon class?

I think it should happen.

They said it was better offshore than a Vee Bottom, 'cause they cut through the seas, prove it!

Nigel has their time number out there in the old Vee they had. All they have to do is beat that number.

Can't you picture it in your mind?

A big 40' Vee launching off a 6' wave at 80+ mph, side by side with a tri-toon going the same speed.

I can hardly wait!!!!

Still need to bolt a couple seats on top. Trying to get X just right. Crane operators love it.
Lots of comments at the ramp.

"You lose sight of the Horizon when coming on Plane....But nothing unsafe, or dangerous"

The cockpit will be somewhat forward.

Ballast tanks at the stern will be filled when preparing to plane. This will lift the bow edge out of the water and establish a running attitude. Once running, ballast water is punped out to reduce weight and keep the drives up.

In testing, the 40x8x8 Flat Deck, Flat Keel, Flat Bow design has proven to be relatively unstuffable while still providing rapid deceleration when coming off plane.
The pleasure models have very nice berths.images.jpg
