I haven't had a landline in over 10 years- no problems (except with DTV)

1/2 my post was that some people are worth what they get paid yet seems like most of the country wants everyone to make $10/hr because we are a global economy and if China can do it so can we. Do you want to live like the Chinese?

The other 1/2 was "landline" is a lot more than a dialtone line most people associate with the term.

Greed is everywhere. Union or not. Just look at AIG, Freddi Mac, lehman brothers, merrill lynch..... just to name a few. Case and point brother in law was a VP for merrill before Boa bought them. Even with going under he got a bonus of 750,000. Say what you want about unions but it is everywhere. **** freddi mac is giving bonuses to keep employees. Let them go, thousands of people out there that would kill for there jobs and probably do it for less and better. Sorry had a couple tonight.

Don't want to see anyone in this country live like, or get paid like, the Chinese, Indian's, Vietnamese, etc. But if we, as a country, continue to think and behave like it's a "Global" economy, that is what has to, and will, happen. China's per capita income doubled in 2008 vs 2007. Got it? From 3.251 Trillion total in 2007 to 7.8 Trillion in 2008. Ours went from 13.84 to 14.58 Trillion. How's that for a rapid catch up in the world economic powers party.

If we, as a country, continue to think that it's okay to send our money to other "cheaper" countries, then they will end up with our money. That's just how it happens.

Nothing bothers me more than to hear someone complain about the state of our economy and then watch them get in their import vehicle and drive away. Am I against the current state of the UAW, yes. Am I against letting foreign countries dump their products in our country to get our money, yes.

We, as a nation, have to stop this trend, or it will be a global economy one of these days, and our standard of living will match everyone else's. There are no other results that I can see.

Unions see their market diminishing in this country so they try harder to protect it so it diminishes more, etc. But, they elect those who give their market to other countries. Clinton implemented NAFTA and Carter gave China most favored trading status, which Clinton re-upped. But the Unions vote for these idiots because they promise the Unions stronger bargaining powers. Time for everyone to see a change is needed, and soon.

I disagree with this. I think that MOST of the country is sick and tired of is unions (and those who aren't in unions) making what they do, getting what they get and still continue to hold their hand out asking for more. And they're making excellent money!

Low six figures for an employee is excellent money. Middle Class America is not making low six figures.

I'm not tired of them making what they do, what I'm tired of is the protecting of the worthless employees that are a drain on the company and the union, but cant be gotten rid of. I was a steward for 4 years with teamsters 639 in DC.
