Asphalt vs fiberglass based shingles

getting a new roof through insur after the micro tornado touched down last year and blew down two of my big trees and screwed up some shingles.....the roofer wants to put on fiberglass based shingles, says they'll last longer than asphalt....never really heard of them....anybody know for sure if they're any better?

Three years ago I replaced a 12-year old roof that had 40-year asphalt/organic based shake shingles with 50-year asphalt/fiberglass shakes from CertainTeed. Very happy with the results. The original 40-year shingles crumbled into pieces.

almost all shingles are asphalt over a fiberglass mat...I have 12 years in the industry, feel free to ask anything you need.
