So, Don Aronow didn't like when they canceled a race because the water was too rough, so he decided to build a boat to compete with the unlimited hydroplanes. Here's a quote from Don.
"''I love the rough water,'' Aronow said. ''There is a thrill about going out in water as rough as possible and racing. To me that was offshore racing. Now they call the races off if it's rough, and they race in lakes. If they want to go calm-water racing, let's go to unlimiteds. And that's what I'm doing.''
From what I read, Don Aronow and Gary Garbrecht came up with it, Gary designed it and Bill Seebold built it. It originally had 850 hp high reving Cosworth engines, it hit 175 mph according to Don, but it was sluggish in the turns. It was then upgraded to Keith Black Chryslers putting out 1,175 hp each, but I can't find much more information about this boat, how it ran, or even if it competed. If anyone out there knows more, let us know!
