It was the perfect storm for our team. None of this would be possible without the sportsmanship of this class. This is the play by play to Typhoons win.
Sat. doing heat races we are down on speed and borrow a prop from Doc. Heat number 3 we blow the upper of our drive. Pull out at 5:00 and start checking the damage of the drive. Time Bandit lost there motor and had there drive off the boat. One simple call and they said "Its all yours". 9:00-12:00 Dunbars,Simmons and others helped split the upper and lower and put in new spacer. Jenny was holding the light,Simmons opened up the hardware store and 10 other people gave John advice. I couldn't break a bolt lose so Jen pushed me a side and showed me how to do it. Finished the work by 12:30 and went to bed. 8:00 AM we had to put the boats in the water for the day. We craned in and found our battery dead and it not shifting. Pulled it out and Simmons came to the rescue with a battery that they installed while we went to do a autograph session in the other pits. Came back at 10:30 for our 11:00 race and our crew had the boat in the water. At the start we took a load of water over the front glass but stayed in it. At turn one it was insane. we were all there and things were happening quick. We were on a inside lane and no where to go but where we were. I looked back a saw the Doc and Madison eating our spray (sorry) forcing them to the inside. Dunbars were on the outside with big speed and closing. George and Jim were leading and they pulled in. Next thing we knew we were in the lead and won. There must have been a angel looking over us because we got every break that day. I want to thank EVERY person in our class for being the sportsman that you all are. I think the trophy should say the SVL class of 2010 not Typhoon.
