I keep forgetting to ask, how does John like the tandem trailer vs triple axle?

Lately the trailer has been problematic for John. Apparently, the original 14 ply heavy duty tire for that particular wheel, is no longer made, so he has had to improvise and use a lighter duty 10 ply tire. This 10 ply tire is not capable of surviving on this trailer at highway speeds for extended periods of time. He has had numerous blowouts, which as you know, tears up the fender and makes a first class mess of everything! He is not able to switch the wheels without reconfiguring the axles and fenders, so for now, he just tows the boat very slowly and carefully. The boat is only towed to Boyne Thunder in the summer, and back and forth to the marina in Florida. The whole boat and trailer is put on a flatbed semi when it goes back and forth between Florida and Michigan, so it does not see much trailer time anyway. My understanding is that it towed just fine with the 14 ply tires on it.

Personally, I have towed my buddy's 42 Cigarette with tandem duallies, and towed my 41 Apache from Florida to Michigan with my Triple Axle single wheel trailer. I much prefer the single wheel tri axle over the dually setup. This was done using the exact same tow vehicle for both rigs, which was a GMC 2500 HD Duramax. The tri axle was much more stable and docile. The dually tandem rocked quite a bit more and felt far less balanced. This excessive rocking caused the truck to become less stable and made for a few white knuckles at times. I would not want to take the dually tandem very far unless the truck was a 1 ton dually as well. I am sure that a crew cab dually would tow either one just fine. I prefer the looks of the dually tandem trailer over the tri axle for sure! They look really good, but I think the weight is distributed much better on the tri axle. The pic below is the tandem dually trailer in question. Forgive me for posting a pic of a Cigarette on the Apache forum....I hope the site does not crash!!!!

LOL, I Am trying to get in touch with Gary Montano. his son saw that picture a while back and told him about it. But I had just had a stroke not long before his call, he wanted me to build one for him, but I do not have his number anymore. From our talk he had and was involved in a lot of offshore boats. I copied that paint work from a picture in a poker runs Magazine.
