Todd Cimino/Apache Powerboats

After reading this thread, I learned that Todd Cimino(T. Rafael Cimino) owned Apache Powerboats. Anyone care to elaborate?

No elaboration here, but a question for the gang. Is it really the concensus that a 47' Apache absolutely needs triples? I seems I saw a photo in the last year some time that showed one with twins. Wouldn't a pair of 1350/M8s be reasoanble, 80-90 mph? Comments.

wouldn't 80 mph in a 47 be, well, rather boring in anything short of a hurricane???

Not sure what a 47 Apache would run with big twins. However, I would have to believe it would crack the 100 mark fairly easily with twin 1350's. In the old days, when they built the 47's, big power was around 900 to 1000 best case in anything that lived. I have to believe twin 1350's would outperform trip 900's anytime.......

Maybe I've gotten over my compulsive "need for speed" jones; but I'd be delighted to push a big old 47 60mph out over the Columbia bar into the Pacific.
