Anyone else just distracted today and unable to focus on work?

I've been up since 9am completing my last take home exam. I must say, in 4 years I have written the same essays over and over again! If you wanna know about sustainable living, climate change, green roofs, air/water pollution, homelessness, transportation, the Canadian economy, or anything else that has to do with human geography, I'M YOUR MAN!

On that note, only 1385 more words to go! YE BOI! 8 days till summer!

What's your major?

My papers were all on history or business topics.

Here's my latest single mom. Look for her on my boat soon! :sifone:

I like where this thread is going:sifone:

Distracted ain't the word...after a double doozey of tail-gatin' at the grand prix all weekend, being up since 5:30 this morning after struggling to get any sleep last night, it's been tough going. I just want this day to end.

Honors B.A. in Geography with a GIS minor. What I will use it for, I have no clue! :)

You will use it to make products that spy on the rest of us from space. Who are you kidding? Google Earth MFrs. :boxing_smiley:

I have a B.A. in English Language and Literature, with honors.
My honors project was in poetry.

I have only used it to write rap for an offshore forum. :)

Oh yeah.... and for jobs. :D

Alright Mr. English, here is my question. Why is it that in the English language we use the "in" for somethings and "on" for others. Like you are on an airplane, on a bus, but in a car and in a helicopter? I've been debating this all day.

situational prepositionisms, hmmm.

Ok... we mostly say "on" when it's a public group thing: "on a tour" "on a bus" "on a plane" "on an escaltor" "on a wagon" because I think in the old days, anything with a group element was not an enclosure. Like on horse. I suppose that there was "in a carriage" But you were still "on a train." On a boat. You are physically "on" the thing. Like, standing on it.

You are in a car and in a helicopter because you are enclosed.
In a house, in a room, in a garage, in a bilge.

The difference is in the subject's position relative to the object.

left the house today, got as far as the driveway. went back inside and went back to bed.
my honey and I spent the day bike riding by the river and having a great meal out on the deck of our favorite on the water restaurant.

Hmm, interesting. I was looking at some of my older essays from first year, and I remember being worried about what to write for 1500 words. I just wrote 3k words for 2 essay questions off the top of my head. Things have come a loooong way!

my boss kept distracting me from work. then i had to read some safety papers. and my A.D.D. was kicking in pretty good which didnt make me happy. but i did get in some nice hulu.com watching.. haha. i like having 2 monitors.

I felt like **** all day. So much freakin stress. Plus its snowing so thats not too cheerful and I feel like I slept about 2 hrs last night. On top of that whats the deal with all the odd things I encountered today? TOmorrow should be a better day.
