I have a 98 Chevrolet half ton conversion van that the tranny took a poop.

I found a good low mileage out of a 94. Will it work with the computer.

I guess it is a 4l60e that is in it .If i go for a new one who do you guys reccomend ?

What would be involved in switching to a 4l80e ? Crossmember -computer.Is there anyway to make the 4l60e tougher for towing ?

I flushed it every 30,000 but my ex overheated the engine a couple times and than drove it for a while before i got it back and could change the tranny fluid.
 
a 4l60 is computer controlled and doesnt have a detent cable its nothing more than a 700r4 without the cable a 4l80e is a bigger trans but they arent as good as you think we have 2 tows trucks that have 4l80's and im not impressed stick with the 4l60 but you must keep it cool to live add a extra trans cooler deeper pan and pickup for more fluid and it will live
