What happened to the Lake Cumberland Marine Chapter 11 filing story on OSO? Guy was a new member/ first post but seemed to have a lot of facts/figures to fill in the blanks but the thread poofed.......

Yea, I just hope no one bought/traded from him in the last month that I and many others knew about this. The info couldn't be posted on the boards because of people jumping all over it for "hurting someones business" or whatever. Guess the whole rumor/information thing is a large double edged sword that can cut both ways!!
Now we'll see if the rumors about the other high profile place is true.

its a fine line we have to walk to keep everyone happy.... rumors do hurt people, but where there is smoke there is fire.. sometimes all it takes is a day or two before the sh it hits the fan to get your boat or trade ins out.... more times than not the rumors are true...... if i could only tell you all about what ive heard in the past few months it would blow your mind.......

Pretty sloppy when a person doesn't follow through and make sure the lien is gone on their old boat.
Which facts/figures? In 3 posts he didn't share a link to the "public" record search, nor a case number, nor any other support. A quick search of BK filings showed nothing. LCM denies the rumor.

I only read the opening post which stated 46mm in debt/ names of banks and chapter 11. I went back to see the rest of the thread and it was gone.....
If it wasn't true it should have been poofed.... but there have been many posts over the last 18 months hinting this was coming for the dealer in KY (from truck drivers to clients).
It's all rumor and speculation until there's a case number or the subject confirms. Besides, big difference between a guy blatantly f-ing over customers, and a marina/dealer filing BK in this market. I'm all about sharing information, but if you can't back it up what's the point?
FWIW, this is the second arrest for this Hideaway guy in the last few months. I'm sure plenty of people were aware of his problems before today but didn't say anything. Verifiable public record but only on his SECOND trip it gets attention?

I bought my boat from them in 06. No major problems but I didn't like some of their sleazy sale tactics.

To clarify, Hideaway was formerly located at what is now a MarineMax location, but to my knowledge there was never any connection between them other than that.

Thanks, I heard he made a chunk of change from selling MarineMax, I must of misunderstood that it was from selling to Marine max.
