Am I Going to Make it Through This Delivery?

STAY BEHIND HER SHOULDERS! For the love of god don't get anywhere near that war zone that day. You'll never want to remember your sand box looking like that. With that being said it's prob the most amazing feeling you'll ever have so take it all in. Congrats.

I took that advice and have no hard feelings - haha.

I thought I was going to barf to, but when I saw his head and the tears filled my eyes I didn't care about anything else. The doc even came and gave me a big hug all bloody and everything.. Just ask the dock for a daddy stitch if it is a vaginal birth:cheers2:

One other thing- if you're going to a teaching hospital, get used to everyone in the place coming in to take a look up your wife's skirt. A janitor came in to grab the trash can once and I expected him to give it a check.

no chit.. We had 4 residents 3 nurses the doc and 2 EMS guys in our room.. All the nurses were waiting for me to pass out. I had to tell them to catch my mother in law when she was going limp.

By the way, has anyone else gained more weight during the pregnancy than the wife?

Unfortunetly yes... yes I did.. Ugg!:smash::smash:

As for being there for the birth. It will change your life. It's up to you wether it changes it for the better or the worse.

If your wife can go through the hard work of having the baby, you should at least be there for her.

Ok - done lecturing. I think it would be gross too.

Almost......

Just went through this less that 2 weeks ago but it was a C-Section and not bad at all. I actually got a picture of the little guy half in and half out of moms stomach.

Get all the sleep you can now. I thought everyone was exaggerating but they weren't. I have felt like a zombie for last 13 days now and I am not seeing a light at the end of tunnel anytime soon. We are sleeping in about 2 hour intervals if we are lucky. But it is worth it.

I chose not to cut the cord either. No real reason why. I just let the pros do their job.

I was in the delivery room when I son was born. We was delivered through a C section, I hid behind the sheet! Pretty intense day for us, Nikki was in labor 18 hours and 2 epidurals, then final had to go this route. Best day of my life for sure!
