I will stand by my prediction made before the President was elected. We will win back all of it by 2012, and he will go down as the WORST president ever, moving Jimmy Carter up one notch.

Polls change - I don't live and breathe by any one indicator. It's a given that a percentage of voters are always gonna be in the 'anybody but the guy that's in there now' camp. And Obama's win was due in part to bush backlash that probably increased the effect, so a drop in numbers was expected.

The dems are great ditherers, tho... and if they manage to fvck up the health care thing, then I wouldn't bet against your prediction. If the bill passes in the next couple of weeks, then repubs will pick up some seats in nov, but generally remain in the wasteland until 2016 or beyond.

Hmmm, I distinctly recall Obama repeatedly blaming Bush for the bank bailouts. Thew problem is not the part of the stimulus used as advertised, its fact that the majority has gone to preservation of gov't jobs and entitlements. It has done little for the private sector.

February produced the lowest monthly total since 37,178 jobs were cut in July 2006, Reuters reported Wednesday. The total is 77% below the 186,350 jobs cut a year ago, in February 2009. Job cuts tabulated by Challenger peaked at 241,749 in January 2009.

We wanted them here- we basically rolled out the welcome mat. The Republicans moreso than the Dem's. Companies love cheap labor and consumers love cheap produce and services. 3. Jumpstart the rebuilding of our infrastructure (it is falling apart faster than the repair process).That was supposed to be this "stimulus" money. It's up to the states to maintain their own infrastructure. They have the same prob;lems the Fed's do- politicians that want to fund pet projects to keep their jobs. States like California choose to spend their dollars on social programs instead of bridge repair. That's their problem.
4. Focus on bringing jobs back to America, start by abolishing unions.Unions aren't the problem. It's the fact that we no longer are the country we were after WW II. The world can get steel anywhere now. We can't change that. Other people build cars. We need to focus ourselves towards what we can do better than anyone else- and do it. Making six figures with a high-school diploma is a thing of the past. Until we make changes in our populace and their education level, you'll continue to see an evaporation of the Middle Class.
5. Limit time allowed in govt service for politicians- no more career politicians. Every state has the same term limit system- don't vote for them. It's not the politicians, it's the constituents. We simply don't participate in the process. It's gone on for so long that politicians have essentially blocked our access to the process. What is the rumor going around the area I work in?

DON'T fill out the Census forms so they have to hire more people to go door-to-door counting people which will provide more jobs. Mentality is to find a way to suck off the system vs mailing in your form ASAP to save the country some money.
