80's bands that get no recognition.

The Cult still gets some air time on the radio, as does Cheap Trick. Bad Co. was more of a 70's group that broke up in the early 80's and became Powerstation.

Starting to hear some UFO now too, and ASIA.

I've gotta go jam out to some Aldo Nova man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life is just a Fantasy!!

Can think of a ton more that were marginal (Yngve Malmstein anyone) and forgotten.
And Tim you know this was coming, I've seen Cheap Trick several times as well!

Yngwie - pronounced "ing-vay" - I have all three albums on vinyl.
Doesn't surprise me about Cheap Trick either... I saw them one year playing out of the side of a semi trailer at a county fair, and the next year in a theater. Saw them again at least once or twice after that.
Built to destroy - Capt. Nemo was a badazz instrumental - incredible guitar playing.

I would have f*cked at least one of the Bangles.
The Bass player - Susanna Hoffs.

The Cult, always good stuff, seems it well in strip clubs back then too!

Fastway- Say what you will!

DAMN! Fastway - I also have vinyl copies of the first two albums. The checkerboard one that they went out and toured with Iron Maiden, and their second. I don't think they had a third.

Another band I loved from the late 80's is JUNKYARD - anyone else remember them?

Circle Jerks?

Mid 1980's Vancouver had a pretty large punk scene and lots of Southern Cali bands came up to play. Most of the Seattle grunge bands came up because of our 19 drinking age!!!!!

Bad Religion.

Dead Kennedy's

Vancouver bands:

DOA

The Dayglo Abortions

Subhumans

Young Canadians

SNFU

Just heard Dayglo aboritions for the first time (That I remember) recently. Love DOA. How about youth brigade. So many freakin' awesome punk bands that you never hear about...

I was in Mesa Hose recently and there was a picture of the dude who owned the shop standing next to his A/Fuel car and some super ugly red-headed chick. Took a minute to sink in that it said "Megadeath" across the front of his fire suit... He was standing next to his sponser... Dave Mustain, ugly chick.

I also have the vinyl picture-disc (shaped) of WAPS's Fxck like a beast.
I met Lita Ford back in the early 90's - have a picture somewhere... She was a complete skank. Mind you, she was my sexually fantasy all through HS, but I still would have stayed away from her even after a penicillin shot. It was a terrible disappointment for me.

On another note - Dave Mustaine is still a badazz. "Peace sells, but who's buying"?
Megadeth was actually a very political band. The message is still strong today.
Another is Rage against the Machine. - Killing in the name
