557 HP outboard in the works.

They had them at the Miami boat show.
Awesome units for sure.

With a couple of those on back. Black Thunder could build a 46 ft CC fishing boat. Now that would be a big, wide, nice riding, fast overnight fishing boat. That seems the way things are going.

I cant belive there is no actuall footage of one running yet. Also, whats 2 to 3k lbs of dead weight clipped directly to the transom going to do to the boat over a period of time?

As much as I hate to be a buzzkiller, I kind of think that the project is stillborn. The first time I saw it I wondered how they got the 557 hp rating after sending the power through several 90 degree turns before it gets to prop. To me, it looks like they put together some components that resembles a drive package with a high center of gravity put a shroud around it and an outboard bracket in front of it. I still think that it's kind of cool, but then again, I also think that the a snowblower with a big block chevy and zoomie headers is cool too.
I think that sombody should have done an "intervention" before it got this far.
I hope that I'm wrong and that it works out well for them. I certainly don't get any enjoyment from seeing someones hard work and effort not turn out well.
