Did a quick search and didn't see anything. What's the best, least destructive way to get something off a boat that's been stuck on with 5200. Specifically trim tabs...
there is nothing that can't be removed with either a big enough hammer or a sufficiently large quantity of high explosives... maybe we should consult Sunkin??
A buddy of mine used this stuff and said it worked pretty well, never tried it myself though. www.marineformula.com/faq.htm
I used a putty knife that I heated up to take my tabs off that were sealed with 5200 and it worked better than any other way I have tried. I used a heat gun and tried to heat the tab and putty knife.

Thanks guys! Hopefully will give it a shot on sunday. Pulling the tabs to get them blasted and powder coated. They had a bit of electalysis and I'd like to get them coated so the salt doesn't eat 'em right up.
Believe it or not the 5200 sofens and dissolves it takes time I soaked them with paint thinner and peeled them loose a couple days later, Ican post some pics if needed

The mistake a lot of people make is trying to just pry them off ,we used to put a comealong on the hinge pin and heat the tab long as you do not exceed the boiling point of water nothing will be hurt they slowly pull off.
I've used a product called "De-Bond" with some success. You have to pry an edge loose to get it started, but once you get going, it makes the process easier.
Send Lake Effect a PM, he used some stuff, I forgot what it was called, it had Formula in the name of it... he will remember, worked great, did not mess up Gel at all
