46 Cigarette with 1350's and #8's

I am a big fan of Cigarettes. I am an even bigger fan of AMG as I own a AMG SL. This boat is more hype than substance as far as the AMG goes. Paint and badges. Exactly what I expected. Paint job design screams 1977. The engine package is spectacular! Nice job Mercury Racing! Nice job of marketing on Cigarettes part to help sell boats. Anything is good in this market to promote performance boats.

Thought you weren't sold on Turbo's ? Guess all you said is they are Spectacular. So what are your thoughts ?

Also as a general note:...........Seems everyone is ok with them now that mercury is on board ?

Thanks

Jon

I'm definetly interested. Don't want the first one, but can see my self using this package in my next boat or in my boat.

I asked Tim what he thought of me sending my boat to the factory and rerigging it. THe short answer I got was it would be better to sell AM II and get a new cig. So if that's the case I would consider what do I really want, a new cig or a 50 foot cat (Flight Club) with the power.

Not in a hurry to decide but really like the possibilities of less valve adjustments, longer life, more power, and less fuel.

132,500 per a side than back out 40,000 for the drive and tranny,92500 for the engines.Wow those are some beautiful cast aluminum exhaust manifolds and those 4 valve per a cylinder heads are nice but still 92500. What kind of hours are they good for.

And anybody that *****es that the price of the merc CMI headers were expensive to replace can't even dream what those one off cast manifolds willl be when they burn thru from overpropping at a 100 hours.

My bet $7000 a side .Any takers ?

My guess $6500 forget how much:confused:How fast is it:)

You would be nuts to pay Cigarette to do anything to your boat. I would call TNT and see what they would charge you. They would definitely have an avenue to sell your used powertrain and according to Matt T....they are selling Merc power at cost! :D

Tim would always tell you to build new, that is the business he is in....Selling New Boats!

Had lunch with Johnny T from TNT yesterday ... he is indeed selling Mercury engines at cost, and he's moved a few during the show. Two days left.

I think people in this thread were kidding, but trust me, Germany had zero, and I mean zero, to do with the development of the Mercury 1300/1350. In fact, the first time the AMG people saw those engines was last night when the sheet came off the boat.

I bet you Premier Perf will beat anyone on the price for this package AND for rerigging

Ceramic coatings.

Good idea. Seem like the alum will expand way faster than the ceramic when high heat is applied. Maybe crack the ceramic maybe not. Might be a carbide wiskered ceramic. Look like Merc has done a nice job:) Some one will have that motor cranking out 2000 HP and idling around the dock with ease. Its about time Merc came around to turbos.:cheers2: Bobby

Matt, any idea why a the bore/stroke measurements are in metric figures?

Geronimo,

I don't even know what the bore and stroke are in inches, much less metric measurements. I'll ask and, if they're offering that information, I'll let you know.
