42X 1075s

Has cigarette built any with this package? I've seen a few 850 boats around but none with 1075s. How do they run (speeds, handling, etc.). Thanks.

I know there was a white 42X with 1075's that went over seas. The name was in red on the sides of the boat "Mauser". I thought I had a pic but can't find it. It was at the Miami show a couple years back.

You talking about this one? It's in Italy, owned by a good friend of Fendi who had the 50 Marauder delivered last year.

There was a 188th street edition that had sterlings as well with the commerative paint scheme. I think it was later re-rigged with Cobras. John in Marco Island owned it for a while. Listed in OSO classifieds.

The 42X is the latest twin step and is staggered.....What is the XP?

Like offshoredrillin said, there were major handling issues with high HP and #6's with the first version of T/S Tigers....Then Cig changed the steps and CG around a bit and fixed the issues and called the new version 42X instead of Tiger. For a while if you wanted to build an XR 42 you'd buy the Tiger "XP". If you wanted the large power/drive package you'd get the X. Then they just did away with the "Tiger" name all together and I don't know if you can even get an XP bottom anymore. But really, why would you want one? The 42X is more efficient with either package.

Got to be in the low teens......Phil's 850 42X ran 106 an a 46 RR runs high teens

If a 46 runs in the high teens, why wouldn't a lighter boat with the same power and nearly the same bottom and running surface run the same or maybe even more?

46 was supposedly their most efficient hull.....A 39 should technically be the fastest 1075 boat out there by weight numbers. If Powerboat could only get Phil's 42X/ 850 boat to 106, I don't see 450 more HP getting 10+ mph...

also depends on where that additional 4 ft is, if it is a wetted surface, the drag may be enough to only make it marginally better, or on the flip side of the coin, maybe the hull maxes out at upper teens and just wont go any faster.
